The Lightolier “Lytegem” Lamp, by Michael Lax
New, black Lytegems, A-minus grade, with slight finish imperfections on right side of base, $95
Designed by Michael Lax in 1965, this lamp is featured in the Museum of Modern Art (MOMA). In 2003, for their 100th anniversary, the manufacturer, Lightolier, brought back a commemorative edition of the long-discontinued Lytegem. The anniversary edition of the Lytegem features the same design as the 1965 classic, and incredibly cool packaging based on the original. We were fortunate to obtain a large batch of black new, unopened “new old stock” Lytegems — the proverbial “back of the warehouse find!” $95 each, new in original box. Available in Acme King Street store or shipped for a flat fee of $25 (continental US — inquire for shipping to other location). These are new, but have slight finish scuffs/imperfections on the right side of the base (see area in yellow circle in photo below for example), resulting from rubbing of the packing materials against the base.
